Chazzing is the new term for charity store shopping and Tooting MP Dr Rosena Allin-Khan certainly did it in style at Wandsworth Oasis.
The newly elected Labour MP managed to pick up a stunning ‘Love Label’ sparkly black dress for only £10 at the HIV charity’s biggest store at Amen Corner opposite Tooting railway station.
The 39 year old, who replaced Sadiq Khan in the House of Commons when he became Mayor of London, said “It’s only £10, what a bargain. I feel so comfortable in it.”
Dr Allin-Khan is the very first of many well-known faces to walk down the new ‘Chazz Walk’ at Wandsworth Oasis.
The charity is encouraging reuse by inspiring shoppers to check out the thousands of preloved items on the clothing rails by producing a video each month of a local celebrity ‘chazzing it up’ in one of their six charity shops across Wandsworth.
Rosena said “It’s been a lot of fun looking through the rails, who knew the wonderful pieces you could pick up on the rails here. I had such a great time and I look forward to returning and shopping again”
Gill Perkins, chief executive at Wandsworth Oasis said “Chazzing is the new word for charity shopping and charity shopping is really on vogue at the moment.”
