Since Oasis was formed back in 1989, we have given away more than £1 million in grants to other charities and those working with people living with HIV or undertaking prevention work. The Grants programme is now open. The closing date for applications is the 31/12/2023.
Wandsworth Oasis exists to improve the quality of life for people affected by HIV and to work towards eradicating the virus in the UK, eliminating stigma and providing quality support. Over the last 30 years we have awarded more than £1 million to HIV support and prevention projects.
We invite applications for our main grants once a year. We are particularly keen to receive applications from those with innovative ideas based around our key themes, or groups and charities that haven’t connected with us before.
You can also apply for Fast-Track funding of up to £1,500 or a one-off grant to support individuals facing hardship throughout the year.
The Funding programme
We give grants to projects and groups that help to improve the quality of life of people affected by HIV and to HIV awareness and prevention work.
We do not have a fixed amount of funds to distribute in discretionary grants each year, with some funding already committed to multi-year projects and grants awarded earlier in the year. The amount of funding available depends on the success of our retail trading and fundraising activities.
Grant guidelines
Please take a look at these before submitting your application. Your project should be situated within London and should be helping a number of people in or from the area.
We primarily fund non-profit making community groups and charities who focus on HIV support and prevention projects in London. Other non-profit organisations are welcome to apply as long as the project/initiative is focused on HIV support and prevention and is based within the UK.
We don’t give grants to statutory providers, local council initiatives or NHS trusts. Ideally, organisations will be a registered charity, but we will consider applications from support groups or leagues of friends, if they are acting for people living with HIV/AIDS.
We do not fund international HIV support and prevention work.
We do not fund individual grants for students.

Applying for a grant
Please download our application form here and return to the Christine Ansell by email. Please include a copy of your latest Trustees’ Report and Accounts with your application.
Timetable
We understand that this is a challenging time for longer term fundraising. If your charity is experiencing significant financial hardship as a result of the pandemic, please submit an emergency application to the Grants Administrator and we will try to review your application outside the normal process.
